GRBA Has Some Exciting Changes for 2007!

The Glen Rock Baseball Association has some exciting changes for the 2007 season aimed at more development of skills.

Pee Wee 1 Baseball - 1st Grade Boys - This program will once again use Coach Pitch instead of the pitching machines.  The first 30 minutes of each session will focus on drills and will be followed by a 60 - 75 minute "game".

Pee Wee 2 Baseball - 2nd Grade Boys - After success during the 2006 season, this program will again introduce pitching to the boys.  The first half of the season will be Coach Pitch.  A pitching clinic will be given for all interested boys at the approximate 1/2 way point of the season.  After the clinic, the boys will begin pitching with a maximum of 1 inning OR 5 batters.  The first 30 minutes of each session for the whole season will focus on drills and will be followed by a 60 - 75 minute "game".  Though scores will not be kept, the "games" will begin following typical baseball rules with 3 outs per inning.   The PW2 Tournament will again be held at the end of the season.

Junior Baseball League - 3rd and 4th Grade Boys - The GRBA will be introducing an "Open Practice Night" for the Junior Leauge.   Throughout the season, these nights will be regularly scheduled.  On these nights, any boy registered for the Junior League may participate in a set of station drills with the focus on improving basic skills.  This program will be successful with the help of many volunteers.  Volunteers are needed to coordinate station leaders, lead stations and pick up equipment.  If you are interested in volunteering please see Patrick Whtye - VP of Rec Baseball or contact Patrick at pawhyte@cisco.com.

Pony Baseball League - 5th and 6th Grade Boys - The GRBA will be introducing an "Open Practice Night" for the Pony Leauge.   Throughout the season, these nights will be regularly scheduled.  On these nights, any boy registered for the Pony League may participate in a set of station drills with the focus on improving basic skills.  This program will be successful with the help of many volunteers.  Volunteers are needed to coordinate station leaders, lead stations and pick up equipment.  If you are interested in volunteering please see Patrick Whtye - VP of Rec Baseball or contact Patrick at pawhyte@cisco.com.
